a building in the Koivula district, completed in 1953 and originally constructed as a children’s home. The plot is leasehold; the purchaser may either lease it on a long-term lease or buy it.

The property is located in the peaceful Koivula district, in a scenic location

in the immediate vicinity of the Siikakoski rapids on the Kymijoki river.

In the 2000s the property has been used, among other things, to provide accommodation/housing for Kotka city immigration services. The building has also been used by an external entrepreneur

for short-term accommodation and/or housing.

The area is covered by local detailed plan 7/82 from 1982. The plot of the building is zoned YS for buildings serving social and health care functions.

The plot borders Kotka’s national urban park to the west. Developing the plot for uses other than social services will likely require an amendment to the local plan.
