Wilderness-style base on the Korvuanjoki at the Koillismaa–Kainuu border, Puolanka

A peaceful spot for a wilderness enthusiast (or party) — a place for a cabin, lean-to or camping tent on the shores of the clear and fish-rich Korvuanjoki at the junction of Koillismaa and Kainuu. From here you can develop a base by the water or deeper into the untouched forest towards the plot's back.

Own island and a smaller channel on the island's side. Wood approx. 100 m³ according to forest resource data, so building and firewood can be found on site.

If you hunt, extensive state hunting areas surround the property and there is game from small quarry up to bear. Beavers are particularly plentiful in the area, to the point of nuisance.

If you fish, the Korvuanjoki offers long stretches of uninhabited banks to cast from, with fish ranging from salmonids to pike. See the attachment for more about fishing and hunting.

If you do not hunt or fish, sit on the bank and listen to/film nature. The river murmurs to calm your mind and the wildlife provides the background sounds.

Also a river with many possibilities for canoeists/kayakers.

Whether you do all of the above or none, the opportunities are there.

On the opposite side of the river, on a hill, there is an old cottage whose exact age I do not know — it was already there in the 1980s when I visited the then-resident on work matters. The next dwelling upstream is about 2.4 km as the crow flies and downstream about 2.1 km. The distance is significantly longer following the river's meanders.
