The cooperative membership for one of the houses in Helsinki’s Koskela new hospital area is being auctioned. This currently entitles the member to rent apartment A5 from the cooperative.

The flat has a good layout and attractive finishes: lacquered 1-strip oak parquet, a grey quartz worktop in the kitchen, and appliances including a quality pyrolytic oven and an induction hob with a larger-than-normal cooking/grilling surface, for example suited to a griddle. The bathroom has large grey stone tiles and ample space for a stacked washer-dryer behind a well‑designed glass door. The apartment offers plenty of storage and a generous entrance hall with room even when the whole family is dressing at the same time. All rooms have underfloor heating, which allows for taller windows since no space is needed for radiators. The glazed balcony and all rooms overlook a peaceful park in the setting of the old hospital area. The largest bedroom has a sliding door that is not shown on the floor plan.

Shared facilities include a top-floor sauna area that can be booked for private use or used as a free communal sauna session once a week. There is a well-equipped, large laundry room with separate drying facilities, modern and large storage for outdoor equipment and prams, and a heated private cage storage for each apartment.

Because this is a cooperative, there is no separate maintenance charge or finance charge; the rent paid by the member includes these costs. The current rent for apartment A5 is €2,237.20.

The cooperative is currently undergoing a process to change its ownership form from a cooperative to a standard housing company. Members will be offered the opportunity to purchase the apartment indicated by their membership when the process concludes. At present the redemption price for apartment A5 is estimated at around €281,000. The exact final redemption price will be confirmed as the process progresses. The buildings were implemented as a group development project, so the price is very favourable compared with similarly sized family apartments in the area. If the conversion proceeds as expected, the maintenance charge for apartment A5 is currently estimated to be approximately €800 per month.

According to current information, it is likely that a company loan as a financing option (in the form of a financing charge) will also be available. The cooperative hopes to decide on and complete the change during 2026. Only natural persons may join the cooperative, so the winning bidder must meet the membership criteria set out in the cooperative’s rules.

The flat will be available to the winning bidder from 1 March 2026.
