The base contains 45 cm of Styrox fill so this tub resists frost. The outer cladding is domestic heat‑treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality workmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to every tiny particle. We are proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years with the same reliable method. Edge panels arrive at the factory as long stock. They are cut to size and assembled into an element containing the pre‑glued insulating base from Sastamala (Jackon) and the maintenance‑free PE plastic basin moulded in Oulu by Pipelif. Our production experts drill the drain hole in the base, make the stove holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is gently tipped on its side to install the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight‑free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and fire‑lighting tools. Ensure the tub is installed level so the water sits evenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice the new owner only needs to attach the stove to the tub’s hose connections with hose clamps, screw the stove’s drain valve shut and hey presto — time for a soak.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded basin — also for taller bathers

The maintenance‑free, rotationally moulded PE basin comes from almost next door, Oulu‑based Pipelif. At their factory the plastic granulate is moulded in a carefully controlled process: granulate is placed into the mould and the mould spins in the oven for an hour. After cooling the basin is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seat comfort in the basin design. The basin sides are not vertical; a wedge‑shaped insulating air gap between the basin and the edge panel supports the bather’s back. Our tub rims are generally higher than those of other manufacturers, so taller bathers’ shoulders sink below the warm water surface and necks stay warm. Seat comfort is top class and legs don’t get cramped, since the bench is not too low despite the height.

Super‑efficient marine‑aluminium stove

The marine‑aluminium stoves included in our hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove copes even with sea water — it suits both fresh and brackish water. Thoughtful material choices make the stove a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat well; the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass door lets you check the fire without opening it. The stove package includes two metres of flue pipe and a rain cap, but if you want extra pipe, a flue guard or spark arrestor, see the accessory list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine oxidises marine aluminium. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for roughly 24 hours, after which the water can also be used for irrigation as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water can develop a slimy residue on the rim, but active oxygen prevents this.

Easy low‑effort maintenance

The Classic Hot Tub won’t freeze at the bottom even in frosty ground. The 45 cm Styrox insulation in the base prevents cold reaching the bottom and keeps the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover which significantly reduces heat loss. A well‑heated tub can be warmed again the next morning with a single load of firewood.

Heat is also provided by the Lunawood heat‑treated pine panels, which complete the tub’s appearance as the rim material. You don’t need to treat the pine if you don’t want to — the surface will weather to a pleasant grey over the years. If you prefer to keep the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The plastic basin is maintenance‑free because a seamless mould leaves no crevices for dirt to collect. Remember to clean the basin surfaces when changing the water — this is easy with ordinary cleaning products. Careful users may disinfect the basin occasionally, but handle waste water correctly.
