Christmas tree sales site, Männistönpuisto, Tikkurila, Vantaa

The City of Vantaa is auctioning, through an online ascending-bid auction, a seasonal right of use for selling Christmas trees at the site described. The Christmas tree sales period is 7–24 December 2026.

A total of six Christmas tree sales sites will be auctioned. A separate online auction will be held for each site on the Huutokaupat.com service. The City will not permit Christmas tree sales elsewhere in the city's public areas. Please note, however, that the City cannot prevent Christmas tree sales on private properties.

All bids submitted are binding.

The operator of the sales activity is independently responsible for obtaining any other permits and submitting any notifications that the activity may require.

Construction works for the Vantaa tram are being carried out near the site. The works may affect traffic flow, routes and accessibility in the area. Bidders are asked to take this into account when making their bids.

Only Christmas tree sales may be carried out in the areas. The Public Order Act must be complied with, as well as the following conditions:

• Winter maintenance and gritting of the sales area is the responsibility of the operator.

• Structures and equipment installed in the area must be loose furnishings that:

  • do not cause danger or obstruction

  • do not damage street structures or vegetation

  • can, if necessary, be dismantled or moved immediately.

• A safety distance of at least two metres must be maintained from the artwork in Lauri Lairala Square.

• If the sales site is located near a transformer or similar facility, the trees must be positioned for sale so that unobstructed access to the transformer or other such facility is maintained.

• The Road Traffic Act must be complied with when using and parking vehicles.

• The area and its immediate surroundings must be kept tidy. The auction winner is responsible, at their own expense, for arranging the waste management required by the activity.

• After the sales period, the area must be restored to its condition before use. The auction winner is responsible for cleaning the area and dismantling any temporary structures and equipment erected there.

• Any additional conditions and instructions issued later must be complied with in the sales activity.
