Alahärmä Health Centre, Kauhava

On 1 December 2025 (§ 265) Kauhava City Board decided to put the former Alahärmä Health Centre building up for sale. In line with the city’s strategy, unused properties are being divested.

The Alahärmä Health Centre building has been leased to the South Ostrobothnia wellbeing area. The lease ends on 31 December 2025.

Basic building information:

• The building is located at Kanttorintie 5, Alahärmä.

• The building was completed in 1966 and extended twice (1977 and 1982).

• A major renovation was carried out in 1996.

• The building's gross floor area is 1,822 m² and its volume is 6,300 m³.

• In 2024 the building's running costs were €43,250.

• The building and its car parks are situated on the following properties: 233-411-100-0 Stenbackan puisto, 233-411-46-3 Puistola, 233-411-43-2 Terveyspuisto and 233-411-43-1 Terveys.

• Plot size approximately 8,500 m². Sold as a parcel. The parcel boundaries will be defined if a sale takes place.

• The area is a groundwater protection area.

The local detailed plan was ratified on 21 November 2005. The building is in block 55 with the zoning designation YS/sk-1. YS is an area for social and healthcare buildings and sk-1 protects pine trees that are significant to the townscape. In the local master plan approved in 2017 the area is designated for central activities.

The building has experienced indoor air problems and is sold in a condition suitable for demolition.
