The building is heated mainly by water‑circulated underfloor heating and by a liquid‑circulated radiator on the ventilation unit. Two vestibules have water‑circulated recirculation units. There are also a few water radiators in the common areas. Heat is produced by a 2,000‑litre Akvatermi electric boiler with electric elements. The building can be connected to Lohtaja district heating via the nearby school’s Pro Pellet Oy boiler plant; a plan for connection is ready. Another option is an air‑to‑water heat pump or a ground‑source heat pump to support the current electric boiler. Large communal areas and corridors could be fitted with air‑source heat pumps.
Electricity consumption has been 197,000–230,000 kWh per year, including heating, hot water heating and all electricity use. The current fixed‑price electricity contract for the sale of electricity is €62.31/MWh, VAT 0%. Each flat has its own electrical distribution board with automatic fuses.
