The site is located in Kitee, Kesälahti on Lake Pyhäjärvi on a valuable ridge area (ah) at Ähkäänniemi, about 40 km from Kitee town centre and 7 km from Kesälahti.

Near the Piikkeensalmi bridge there is a large guest marina and pier.
