For rent: Unarinköngäs wilderness cabin, Meltausjoki, Rovaniemi

For rent in the northern part of Rovaniemi, on the bank of the Meltausjoki river, a wilderness cabin with a separate riverside sauna. In addition to the main room, the cabin has a kitchen with a gas stove and gas refrigerator. Lighting is by your own choice, using candles, LED lamps or similar. There is no well, so drinking water must be taken from a spring (300 m away) or from the river.

The property is rented for private leisure use only, so business activities are not permitted. The lease term is 5–10 years and the rent is tied to the cost of living index.
The auction bid is therefore for the amount of one year's rent (EUR/year)

The cabin is rented with the equipment and furniture that it has at the time the lease is signed.

The property is rented in the condition it is in at the time of letting, and under the lease terms the tenant will be responsible for the full maintenance and upkeep of the buildings, including minor repairs. Metsähallitus, as landlord, will therefore not take part in the above maintenance costs during the lease period. Any larger repairs of a major renovation nature will be decided by Metsähallitus separately on a case-by-case basis. Metsähallitus pays the property tax and building fire insurance.

Access to the cabin is either via the suspension bridge over the Meltausjoki from the turning area at Unarinköngäntie, or via a forest road branching off the Niesi-Unari road. On both routes, the walk is about 0.5 km. Please note that the roads mentioned above are not ploughed in winter.

The lease will not include any special rights or benefits, such as fishing or hunting permits.
