ABOUT IONISATION:
Negative ions produced into indoor air attach to light, positively charged airborne particles, forming larger, heavier molecules that quickly fall out of the breathing zone.

Negative ionisation also breaks down volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are harmful when inhaled. Several microbes produce toxic compounds that mix into indoor air as aerosols — these microbial toxins can cause serious health hazards if they reach the lungs and bloodstream. Heavy, non-mixed microbial toxins cause harm mainly via spores, which are the carriers of these dangerous toxins.

The effectiveness of ozone (O3) and negative ionisation is based on high concentrations.

When a device produces negative ions in addition to ozone, the effectiveness is 5–10 times better than ozone alone, and high concentrations remove spores and odours effectively even from porous materials, such as sofas and bedding.

Fine particles in indoor air pose a serious health risk in homes and workplaces.

Harmful fine particles travel into the lower lungs (alveoli) via respiration and then into the bloodstream, causing serious health problems in addition to asthma and allergies.

Ozonation and negative ionisation clean indoor air of harmful fine particles as well as bacteria, moulds, viruses and various gases.

Ozonation and negative ion treatment work particularly well in a slightly pressurised building.

Ozone and negative ion treatment together form compounds that effectively remove microbial spores and various odours, for example sewer gases, smoke smells, bacterial and mould toxins, and stubborn cooking and smoking odours.

Ozone and negative ion treatment also removes fine particles, MVOC (Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds) and VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) from the air.

Ozonation and negative ion treatment produce a pleasant, easy-to-breathe indoor air which is good for people to occupy.

Together they provide very clean indoor air for workspaces as well.

Ozonation of indoor air cannot be carried out while people are present because ozone is produced in high concentrations to destroy microbial spores. The combined effect of high ozone concentration and negative ions provides good cleaning results even for porous materials. After treatment the space should be ventilated before people return.
