The tub is made of polyethylene plastic and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a stylish, snow-load resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine-aluminium stove, a drain tap and drain pipe. The tub is thermally insulated. The base contains 45 cm of Styrox fill, so this tub will not frost out and spoil the bather’s enjoyment. The outer shell is Finnish heat-treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish-quality workmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland down to every small particle. We are proud of our production line and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same working method. The tub’s edge panels arrive at the factory as long stock. They are cut to size and an element is assembled, into which a pre-glued insulation base from Sastamala (by Jackon) and a maintenance-free PE plastic shell moulded by Pipelifе from Oulu are placed. Our production line experts drill the drain hole into the base, make the heater holes in the side and install the hoses. Finally the package is carefully tilted on its side for fitting the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and a way to start a fire. The new owner should ensure the tub is installed level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice you only need to attach the stove to the hoses on a level surface with hose clamps, screw in the stove’s drain valve and then — hop in.

Improved seating comfort in the rotomoulded shell — also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free rotomoulded PE shell comes almost from next door, from Pipelifе in Oulu. At their factory the plastic granules are placed into a mould and rotated in an oven for an hour; after cooling the shell is ready to be moved to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort when designing the shell. The sides are not vertical: a wedge-shaped insulating air space between the shell and edge panelling gives better back support. Our tubs have slightly higher rims than many competitors, so taller bathers’ shoulders sink below the steaming water surface and necks don’t get cold. Seat comfort is top class and legs don’t get cramped, as the seat is not too low despite the height.

Super-efficient marine-aluminium stove

The marine-aluminium stoves included in our hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove handles even sea-water, so it works with both fresh and brackish water. Carefully chosen materials make the stove a hot top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat very well; the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass viewing door lets you check the fire without opening the hatch. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap. If you want more pipe, a chimney guard or spark arrestor, see the accessories list.

Note that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine will begin to oxidise the aluminium. We recommend changing the water often and using active-oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours; afterwards the water can be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is also safer for children. Untreated water easily forms a slimy film on the tub rim, but active oxygen prevents this process.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub does not freeze out in winter. The 45 cm Styrox base stops cold reaching the bottom and helps keep the water warmer. A plastic cover is included, which significantly reduces heat loss. A well-heated hot tub can be brought back to temperature the next morning with a single load of wood.

Heat is also retained by the Lunawood heat-treated pine panelling, which crowns the tub’s appearance as an edge material. You do not need to treat the pine panels unless you want to — they will weather to a beautiful grey over the years. If you want to preserve the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The PE shell is maintenance-free: with no moulded seams dirt has nowhere specific to build up. Remember to keep the surfaces clean when changing the water — this is easy with normal detergents. More meticulous users can occasionally disinfect their shell, but remember to handle wastewater correctly.
