Arctic Hot Tub! No more drinks warmed in the water

Who would want to sip refreshments warmed in the hot tub? No one! That is why the bath barrel designers at Hyvän Kaupan Paikka have come up with integrated shelves with drink holders for the Arctic Hot Tub. The shelf is not only a lounging spot for waiting on hot tub beers, ciders, lemonades and cocktails, but candles and lanterns can also be placed there for atmosphere. It also works excellently for children’s hot tub activities, as swimming goggles and toys can be set down on the shelf during breaks from diving. Its versatility is limited only by imagination, so the shelf is truly multi-purpose. The openings intended for drinks can also hold earrings or a smartwatch if you are unsure whether it is waterproof. Although time is not something you are meant to track while enjoying the tub, it is handy to glance at the phone resting on the shelf. The eight drink recesses are enough even for a larger group of bathers.

Innovative design – square-oval shape

We decided to combine two beautiful design languages into one and created the square-oval shape of the Arctic Hot Tub. This design speaks the language of both practicality and beauty. The shape makes the shelves possible and brings extra character to the traditional round bath barrel form. Arctic Hot Tub is an excellent match for Finnish uprightness and straightforwardness. However, the corners have been softened from the Finnish “swamp, hoe and Jussi” ideology, because no one needs to tense up in a bath barrel. Although the tub is called Arctic, we recommend heating the water before getting in.

User-friendly, versatile Step In step

You would not think a single plastic step could do so much, but it really can. We have designed the Step In step, which makes getting into the tub easier, specifically to suit the Arctic Hot Tub. Naturally the step also helps when getting out, but it also works as a seat for a smaller child when their head would otherwise sink below the surface. We have also found it works well as an armrest, making the Arctic Hot Tub a practical water recliner. The Step In solution makes Arctic Hot Tub suitable for bathers of all ages and helps people with reduced mobility to bathe more easily. In the arctic conditions of the Finnish winter, tired limbs are easier to lower into the soothing warm water thanks to the Arctic Step In step.

What colour shall we choose?

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s relaxed approach is also reflected in the tub selection. From us you get bath barrels for every need and taste. You can get the Arctic Hot Tub dressed to your liking. You can choose the colour of the plastic tub yourself from five options, and think about the position of the Step In step relative to the stove. And that is not all. You can also choose the outer cladding material from three options, and pick the cover colour between black and grey. The tub colour range takes its inspiration from nature, with options such as sea blue or lichen grey. All colours work together and complement each other perfectly.

Arctic conditions – effective insulation

To make the Arctic Hot Tub worthy of its name, we wrapped the tub in proper insulation! Under the plastic tub is a 44 cm thick EPS insulation layer that keeps frost at bay and the bathing water hot even in colder winter weather. We also added plenty of thermoplastic to the sides so that the edges are insulated too. This highly insulated bath barrel retains heat so effectively that an Arctic Hot Tub closed well with its cover is still warm the next day. For the chilliest cold-sensitive users, we recommend firing one load of wood for the next day’s water play, but a tub ready for bathing the next day is ready in an instant. Get the wood into the stove, change your gear, wash up, get the tub drinks ready and then straight into bathing.

Gentle warmth efficiently

The efficient marine aluminium Arctic stove heats the water to bathing temperature in a couple of hours. The stove’s marine aluminium, with a full 35 kW of power, is durable and conducts heat well. The stove is fitted with a beautiful glass door so that the wood-fired tub creates a lovely glow without needing to open the door to check the fire.

The marine aluminium stoves included in Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s bath barrel package are made in Finland. This powerful stove is not even bothered by seawater, as it works with both fresh and salt water. Carefully considered details in the materials make the stove a red-hot premium product. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want more pipe, a chimney guard or a spark guard, have a look at the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine starts to oxidise it. We recommend changing the water often enough and using active oxygen tablets (see accessories list). Active oxygen oxidises the water for about a day, after which the water can also be used for watering, as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children too. Water without oxygen quickly starts to form a slimy surface on the edges of the tub, but active oxygen prevents this process.

Carefree plastic tub

The uniquely designed and carefully engineered seating comfort of the Arctic Hot Tub tub section is made of Jaxal moulded polyethylene plastic. This plastic has a memory, meaning it wants to keep the shape it was moulded into. The easy-care, carefree plastic tub stands the test of time very well, which is why we dare to offer a ten-year warranty.

Because there are no cast seams in the plastic tub, dirt cannot collect in any particular spots. Still, remember to keep the tub surfaces clean when changing the water. This is easy to do with normal cleaning agents. The most meticulous users can sometimes clean the tub more aggressively, i.e. disinfect it, but remember to ensure proper wastewater handling.
