Attractive and functional acoustic decorative panels. Slat width 40 mm. Single panel size 2400 x 600 mm. Includes black mounting screws for wall installation.

Evella acoustic decorative panels are a quick and easy way to create a modern, architectural impression in a space. The panels suit modern Scandinavian interiors, creating a seamless slatted wall surface and significantly improving room acoustics.

The backing felt of the acoustic panel is 100% recycled polyester fibre, specifically developed to reduce noise levels and remove room reverberation. The MDF slats attached to the backing felt are coated with real wood veneer, giving the panel a natural, attractive finish. Installation can be done with the included screws or with glue purchased separately.

How it works
The acoustic slatted panel attenuates sound in two ways:

• The felt acts as an absorption material that absorbs sound

• The slats and their gaps scatter sound by diffraction, i.e. disperse it in different directions

Although a slatted panel does not absorb sound as effectively as a traditional insulation board, it often creates a more balanced and natural acoustic, especially in living spaces. The difference can be noticed in clearer speech or reduced echoes from loud noises, such as bangs.

Natural sound environment
The panel’s natural effect arises because part of the sound is reflected by the slats and scattered more softly. This shortens the reverberation time and makes the room less echoey, improving comfort for living and working. In speech, listeners need to process less reverberant sound, which can also help hearing clarity, e.g. for those with hearing loss.

Tip! You can easily test a room’s reverberation by clapping your hands once at different points in the room. In a reverberant space you will hear how long the reverberation persists.

Installation
The panels are easiest to screw directly onto battens. For concrete walls horizontal battens are recommended. The included black drywall screws blend into the felt, and additional screws are readily available from DIY stores.

If you want to extend the frequency range of attenuation slightly lower — for example for music listening — you can:

• Install the panel off the wall onto battens so that sound does not immediately reflect back after passing through the felt and is reflected across multiple interfaces

• Add mineral wool between the battens to increase absorption. The wool or acoustic panel added can even be used or slightly worn on the surface since it will be hidden

The panel can also be installed directly over the partition wall insulation without plasterboard, but this limits the effect to the room's internal acoustics. As a downside, sound transmits more easily to the adjacent room, and the panel will not function as effectively as a sound barrier as a missing plasterboard would.

Practicality
Evella panels provide an easy way to finish large surfaces without demolition or filler work. They are suitable for both walls and ceilings and are quick to install.
