To be dismantled: log‑frame cottage and sauna buildings and two storage buildings.

The City of Oulu is selling a used log cottage, a log sauna and two small log‑framed storage buildings for dismantling and removal, at Mäntyrinne 37, Oulu. Property ID: 564-404-25-38.

A demolition permit has been granted by Oulu City Building Control. Building footprint approx. 9.6 x 8.6 m including terrace (see attachments). The sale also includes the log sauna adjacent to the cottage, approx. 37 m2, a yard store + outhouse approx. 11 m2 and a wood shed approx. 5 m2.

The buyer must dismantle the buildings with their own tools and at their own expense and remove them. The buildings must be dismantled and removed from the plot by 31 August 2026. The building has no water supply or sewage. Any excess waste generated during dismantling must be taken by the buyer to an authorised waste reception point. Any demolition waste is the buyer's responsibility. The city carried out asbestos and hazardous‑material surveys on the log building in summer 2025. No asbestos was found in the survey; traces of heavy metals were detected in the yellow exterior paint of the main building covering approx. 22 m2.

The buyer is responsible for health and safety during demolition, planning and hiring any professionals. Arrange the start notification and final inspection by e‑mail or phone directly with the building control inspector. A decision approving the demolition site manager must be obtained before starting demolition. Read also the other permit conditions in the demolition permit decision (attachment).

The buyer may inspect the site in advance and accepts the building as being sold for dismantling as is when making an offer. The buyer is responsible for the safe disassembly, transport, packing and removal and for related costs.
