Diagnostics and fault-finding (Vagen Oy)

The car has undergone thorough fault-finding at the workshop. Findings and report:

• Running and noises: The car was started in the yard. The engine runs noticeably roughly and the flywheel sounds as if it were solid. A strange grinding noise was heard when pulling away.

• Driveshaft guard plate: The inner-end guard plate of the right driveshaft was touching the driveshaft. Washers were added under the bolts to remedy the issue – no mechanical noise was heard when running the car on the lift.

• Mechatronics and pressures:

  • Fault codes stored.

  • Slight oil leakage from the mechatronics unit.

  • Mechatronics pressure when cold approx. 44 bar (does not rise or fall).

  • Run on the lift: as the gearbox and oil warm up, mechatronics pressure drops at the same rate. At approx. 30°C, pressure is barely 38 bar.

• Clutch condition: A short test drive was carried out at the end, with no clutch slipping detected. Considering the low pressure, it can be assumed that the clutch pack is in good condition.

Completed servicing and repairs

The car has been well maintained and significant refurbishment work has been carried out:

• DSG clutch: Replaced previously

• Timing belt & auxiliary belt: Complete timing/multi-rib belt kit and water pump recently replaced (belt replacement not due)

• Glow plugs: Replaced with the belt

• Turbocharger: Replaced

• Air conditioning: Refrigerant recharged just over a year ago

• Electrical equipment: Right rear electric window repaired (previously not working)

• Rust repairs: Rust underneath the rear right side of the car was recently repaired and painted
