Defects and other observations

Known faults:


Hybrid system: If the car is left unused for several days, it reports a hybrid fault (fault code IR - P0AA6) and will not enter READY mode, so it cannot be driven. The fault can easily be reset, for example with the Dr. Prius app, after which the car can be driven normally. During regular daily use, the fault has not recurred when longer daily journeys are made. Perhaps a weak 12 V battery?


Suspension/Drivetrain: An occasional clunking noise comes from the rear right (it sounds as if the exhaust were knocking against the underside). The car was inspected at a Toyota authorised service centre, but no clear cause was found. The service centre suspected the noise might come from the electric rear axle. An electric rear axle, driven 250,000 km, is included.


The left-side mirror has changed colour after sustaining a minor impact.

​Hybrid Error (P0AA6): Appears if the car sits unused for days (suspected weak 12 V battery?), the car will not enter READY mode and cannot be driven. The code can easily be cleared with the Dr. Prius app, after which the car can be driven normally.


​Rear Clunking Noise: Occasional knocking sound from the rear right. A Toyota dealership inspected it but could not pinpoint the exact cause, suspecting the electric rear axle. A replacement electric rear axle (driven 250,000 km) is included in the sale.


The left side has sustained minor damage and is now tinted gold.
