Hyundai ix35, 2012, Kuopio

Here is a spacious and sturdy Korean SUV for anyone who is not afraid to get their hands dirty or is looking for the perfect winter project!

This 2012 Hyundai ix35 hides a punchy 2.0-litre petrol engine and effortless automatic transmission beneath its styling, making driving as easy as dancing. The odometer shows a reasonable 210,000 kilometres, so the body and drivetrain still have plenty of life left.

However, the engine has now decided to ask for some extra attention. A thorough workshop diagnosis found scratches on the cylinder walls, so the car is being sold for repair. This is a textbook project for a skilled mechanic, engine swapper or enthusiast. With a little engine work, you can turn this into a really fine, value-retaining SUV for yourself or resale.

Grab yourself an affordable project for the autumn evenings, get the engine sorted and drive in style towards new adventures.
