Volvo V70 D5 R-Design 

I am now selling my well-used and reliable car, as the need for a diesel car has decreased significantly.

A comfortable car to drive, and the interior is in tidy condition considering its age and mileage. The driver’s seat has some discolouration/wear.

Mileage: 656,405 km and rising every day.

The engine and gearbox have been serviced regularly at a workshop.

Services and repairs carried out:

• Timing belt replaced in 2023 at 567,xxx km

• Gearbox oil changed/flushed in 2023 at 567,xxx km

• Last oil change done at 628,652 km

• New battery in winter 2025–2026

• Thermostat replaced in February 2026 (done by myself, so there is no receipt)

• Rear original Nivomatic shock absorbers replaced with standard shock absorbers in 2022

Notes / faults:

• Engine oil and filter should be changed within about 1,000 km.

• Oil has never needed topping up between changes, and no oil leaks have been observed.

• Coolant has had to be topped up about once a month. The issue started when the Webasto was removed and the engine heater installed. It may be a small leak somewhere, but this has not been investigated in detail, so there is no certainty.

• The power steering needs repair. When cold it works fairly normally, but as the car warms up the steering becomes very heavy. This is not much of an issue at higher speeds, but it is clearly noticeable when parking, for example.

• There is rust on the wheel arches and above the windscreen.

• The air conditioning works, but makes extra noise and would probably need checking.

• The parking assist has not worked during my ownership.

• The tailgate gas struts are worn: sometimes the tailgate stays up, sometimes it falls down.

• If the tailgate is opened manually, the handle stays inside. Opening with the key works.

• Sometimes a clunking or knocking noise can be heard when driving over potholes.

• Sometimes a similar clunking or knocking sound is heard when slowing down for a junction. The source has not been investigated further. So far the noise has only occurred when the car is cold.

• The Webasto has been removed. The car has engine and cabin heater sockets, which worked at least last winter.

• When cold, the exhaust fumes sometimes have a slightly sour/unpleasant smell. I have not investigated the cause further.

• If the car has been standing for a long time, the blower starts running at full speed as soon as the car is unlocked. The blower stops when the door is opened. This has not been investigated, and the fault has been present throughout my ownership.

Inspection valid until 6 November 2026.

Last year the right-hand sill panel was replaced for inspection.

Includes summer and winter tyres on rims. (+ 2 extra loose winter tyres)

The summer rims are not especially attractive, but they do the job. At least two of the summer tyres need replacing.

Includes 3 keys.

The car is sold as is, without warranty. The buyer should inspect the car’s condition and the shortcomings mentioned in the listing before purchase.
