Rare manual coupe with a torquey diesel engine!


Sold for repair. The car is roadworthy and in regular use, but needs care. Inspected in March 2026 with no remarks.

The body appears rust-free on the surface, but the paintwork needs thorough cleaning and polishing.

The interior is in very tidy condition for the mileage, with only slight wear on the driver's seat. The electrical systems work except for the parking sensors.


When warm, it is tight and pleasant to drive, and the power seems to be there. There are issues when cold, see defects.

For the last five years there is a stack of receipts for repairs and maintenance. Service book (digital and paper) from new.

Serviced according to the maintenance schedule, with engine oil changed more often than scheduled, roughly every 10,000-15,000 km.

Defects and other observations

Maintenance needed:

  • Engine, gearbox and differential oil need changing.

  • Air conditioning works but needs a refill


Suspension and drivetrain:

  • Clunking from the front, especially during fast rebound, see next point

  • Top strut mount bearings on the front dampers are rusty and worn

  • Condition of the front dampers is unclear, they are getting towards the end of their service life; rear dampers are fairly new

  • Vibration noticeable at around 110+ km/h, cause unknown, wheel balancing checked

  • Rear trailing arm bushes make noise, especially on the right, but there is no play


Engine:

  • When cold, occasional hesitation in throttle response, which disappears quickly as the engine temperature rises; see following points

  • Running issues in frosty weather, and in harder frost it will not start

  • According to the workshop, some glow plugs are in poor condition

  • Aftermarket replacement EGR valve occasionally sticks closed. It has recently been working normally again.


Body and paint:

  • Hole in the lower grille

  • Clear coat damage on plastic parts, sills and bumpers

  • Paintwork would need more thorough cleaning and polishing


Electrical:

  • Parking sensors do not work, apparently due to a faulty rear sensor/wiring loom

  • The cruise control speed signal from the wheel speed sensor intermittently shows incorrect values. Cruise control works normally.


The car may have other faults that are not known to me.
