For sale: a significant mineral extraction site located in the municipality of Luhanka. A 10-year mineral extraction permit has been granted, including immediate right to start. Most of the area has already been opened for operation, enabling efficient and prompt production start-up.

The extraction area and its surroundings will be partitioned as a separate property for sale.

Location: Luhanka, Central Finland, 9 km south of road no. 612 on Lempääntie

Permitted extraction volume 170,000 m3 (Planned annual extraction approx. 17,000 m3)

Permit validity 10 years (Decision date 18/12/2025)

As this is partly an established older extraction area, most of the site is already opened for extraction.

The area has previous extraction down to approx. +136 m, which is well suited for e.g. storage of processed products or placement of screening and crushing equipment.

The site is subject to conditions set by the technical and environmental committee to ensure responsible operation:

Groundwater protection: The area lies within the Lempää 2E-class groundwater zone. The lowest extraction level (+138 m) maintains a safe protective layer to the highest groundwater surface. A monitoring observation pipe is in place.

Environmental responsibility: On-site servicing of machinery and permanent fuel storage are prohibited (normally allowed temporarily during crushing periods with protective measures).

Landscaping: Aftercare will be carried out progressively as extraction advances using the site’s own topsoil (estimated total costs approx. €8,000). A security to the municipality has been set in the permit (€5,000 initial security / €24,050 total security).

Nature values: If critically endangered sand martins nest on the slopes, the nests will be protected during the breeding season in accordance with the Nature Conservation Act.
