High-quality, solid oak plank table top consists of two "planks" made from 3.6 cm thick bonded board. We aim to select planks with as similar tones as possible, but natural wood may show colour variations between pieces. Each top is unique; wood colour and grain vary according to the growing conditions of the tree.

The surface is lacquered, so it does not require the regular maintenance of an oiled finish. The lacquer is applied three times with a water-based, matt indoor lacquer. The top has a slightly brushed texture that highlights the natural features of oak and brings out the wood grain. Knots are a natural part of solid wood. Knots may have narrow cracks which can be filled. The surface is not perfectly smooth — oak has a slightly coarse texture that can be felt when running a hand over the table. Because of this texture there may be small variations in sheen in the lacquered surface.

Choose suitable legs and combine them with this top to make a finished dining table. The top has several fixing positions for legs. If needed, new holes can be drilled carefully. Includes only the two top planks, 2 pcs, no support slats.

• Care / cleaning instructions: For cleaning wooden parts we recommend a slightly damp soft cloth. If a liquid is spilled, wipe it up before it dries. If necessary, dirty surfaces can be cleaned with a mild detergent or soap. Rinse and dry the cleaned area. Do not use strong or abrasive cleaners. Avoid placing corrosive substances or hot pans and similar items directly on the bare table surface.

• Material, additional information: Oak is very hard and durable, and therefore dense. This causes the wood to react to changes in humidity. In heated indoor air in winter wood dries and shrinks, and in summer it absorbs moisture and swells. This change can be as much as 7–9 mm on a one-metre wide top. The top may slightly warp in winter but will correct in summer or vice versa. This is a natural property of wood and cannot be completely eliminated. Small hairline cracks from wood movement are also typical for oak and do not weaken the top or affect its service life or durability. Wood reacts to light within weeks or months and its tone may change compared with a new surface. This is a natural characteristic and not a defect. Objects left on the top may also leave marks if other parts receive more light.
