Now, due to a serious Volvo obsession, this well-travelled Merc is reluctantly being put up for sale. It is rusty and worn, there is no getting around that—the mileage shows. The power is very much still there, the gearbox changes as it should, and the differential does not whine. The windscreen is good. Over the past couple of years, all oils, fluids and filters have been changed, and various other servicing and repairs have been carried out. Wheel bearings, a brake calliper, control arms, injector sealing washers and so on. This summer alone, it has made a holiday trip from Northern Savonia to Helsinki and the Turku archipelago, returning home via Kokkola. The engine oil was changed today, and the studded tyres shown in the first pictures have been fitted. The summer tyres are on the rims at the front of the car in the last pictures; the poor intermediate-season tyres at the rear in the pictures are not included in the sale. Buy a better-than-it-looks-and-costs Merc, with every mile on the clock.

Defects and other observations

Bonnet gas struts are broken. I ordered new ones, but the wrong ones arrived. I improvised working struts for it, but the bonnet cannot be put into the service position. The tailgate lock works if you know how to use it. There is plenty of surface rust, but it has not been welded, as far as I know. The person who removed the injectors before me had cracked the valve cover and patched it with chemical metal.
