Key Flag product from our own production line

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is made in Finland, down to every small component. We are very proud of our production line, and have made this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same proven design. The tub’s edge panels arrive at the factory as long lengths. They are cut to size and made into an element, into which the previously bonded insulated base from Jackon in Sastamala and the maintenance-free, moulded PE plastic tub from Pipelife in Oulu are inserted. Our precise hot-tub specialists drill the drain hole in the base, the stove holes in the side and fit the hoses. Finally, the package is carefully placed on its side to install the outlet pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered carriage-free to its new happy owner, who only needs to have a water hose, firewood and fire-lighting equipment ready. The owner must ensure that the hot tub is installed level, so that the water does not sit unevenly in the tub. Installation instructions are included, but in practice the new owner only needs to attach the stove, placed on a level surface, to the hot tub with hose clamps, screw the stove’s outlet valve shut and hey presto, it is time for a bath.

Improved seating comfort in a rotationally moulded tub – also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, moulded PE plastic tub comes to us from nearby, from Pipelife in Oulu. At their factory, the tub is created from plastic granules through a precise rotational-moulding process. The granules are placed in a mould, which rotates in an oven for one hour. After cooling, the tub is ready to be transferred to Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s production line.

We have paid particular attention to seating comfort in the tub’s design. The sides are not vertical, as a wedge-shaped insulating air space has been left between the tub and the edge panelling, providing better support for the bather’s back. Our tubs have higher-than-average sides, so even taller bathers’ shoulders sink below the steaming hot water and their necks do not become cold. Seating comfort is first class, and legs do not get tangled in this hot tub, as the bench is not too low despite its height.

Super-efficient marine-aluminium stove

The marine-aluminium stoves included in Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s hot-tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove is not even put off by seawater, as it works with both fresh and salt water. Carefully considered material details make this stove a red-hot top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat excellently; the stove’s front plate is stainless steel, and the glass door allows you to check the fire without opening the door. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want more pipe, a chimney guard or a spark guard, see the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine begins to oxidise it. We recommend changing the water often enough and using active-oxygen tablets (see the accessories list). Active oxygen oxidises the water in about 24 hours, after which it can also be used for watering, as it contains no additional chemicals and is safer for children. Oxygen-depleted water can easily create a slimy surface on the tub’s edges, but active oxygen prevents this process.

Easy maintenance with minimal effort

In the Classic Hot Tub, your backside does not freeze even when the ground is frost-bound. The 45 cm Styrox insulation in the base prevents cold from reaching the bottom of the tub and also keeps the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover that considerably reduces heat loss. A well-heated hot tub can be warmed up again the following morning with just one load of firewood.

Heat is also retained by the Lunawood heat-treated pine panelling, which completes the hot tub’s appearance as the edge material. The pine panelling requires no treatment if you do not want it. The surface will then weather to a beautiful grey over the years. If you want to retain the brown shade, apply wood oil annually. The plastic tub is also maintenance-free: as it has no moulded seams, dirt cannot collect in particular areas. Remember to keep the tub surfaces clean when changing the water. This is easy with ordinary cleaning products. More thorough users can occasionally clean and disinfect the tub, but remember to handle wastewater correctly.
