Volvo 960 – a Swedish classic at its finest.

From an era when Volvo built cars to last from one generation to the next. The 960 combines timeless design, exceptional passenger comfort and refined technology.

This well-presented example has retained its distinguished character. The understated silver colour, period-correct appearance and classic lines make the car stylish even today.

A well-preserved Volvo 960 rarely comes onto the market. For its next owner, this is a car representing genuine Volvo quality and tradition.

Mechanically, the car is in very reliable and fully functional condition.

The engine and automatic gearbox work well, the power appears to be all there, and the car provides first-class comfort.

It is powered by the superb 2.9 24V straight-six (B6304). The B6304 is one of Volvo’s last classic straight-six engines – very smooth-running, pleasant and highly regarded by many enthusiasts. It is one of the 960’s greatest strengths.

The body is very impressive overall. Naturally, there is some age-related wear, and some areas of the car have been touched up (see photos).

The interior is in excellent condition. For its age, the seats are really well preserved, and the cabin is otherwise clean, tidy and intact throughout.

The electrical functions work.

The car offers a driving experience that few cars can match; sitting in it feels like sitting in a king’s chair 🫡 There is plenty of power to move the car briskly and strongly, while the rear-wheel drive adds its own character! The differential is in good condition with no excessive whining.

The car was properly serviced up to 2015, after which it was driven less and also stood for several years.

The timing belt, oil and filter were changed in 2026, just 100 km ago! A chain has also been replaced at some point: in these engines, the camshafts are driven by a timing belt from the crankshaft, while there is a short chain between the camshafts inside the cylinder head.

The car runs and has passed its inspection. It is no longer new and shows signs of use, but there are virtually no dents or rust!
