On the mechanical side, all gears engage smoothly, although the worn gear pattern on the gear lever means changing gear relies more on the driver's experience. The steering is slightly stiff, so you can save a few pounds a month on a gym membership.

The tailgate offers its own puzzle. It does not open conventionally, but requires the cable to be operated from inside the tailgate. The rear window works normally, however, so access to the luggage area is possible with a creative approach.

According to the previous owner, a small amount of petrol may escape when refuelling. This has not been investigated further, so the car also offers an opportunity to deepen your automotive hobby.

There is more rust on the body than expected for its age and mileage, but the panels are surprisingly straight and the car does not look as though it has been used as a substitute for a forestry machine. The headlamps are oxidised, so they provide more atmospheric lighting than stadium-level illumination.
