For sale is this superb 1978 Ford Escort Mk2 1.3

The car was sold new in Finland and remained with the same family in the same village from new. It was stored in a dry storage facility for around 30 years, after which it was recently recommissioned and returned to the road.

Recent work

• Professionally repainted in its original factory colour. The engine and all glass were removed for the paintwork.

• Minor rust repairs have been carried out in the typical rust-prone areas of the Mk2 Escort.

• The engine has received a full service.

• The braking system has been serviced.

• The fuel tank was removed, cleaned and refitted.

• The car has passed its MOT and is ready to drive.

Exterior

The body is exceptionally straight and looks excellent throughout. The professionally applied new paintwork is of a very high standard, with a deep, fine gloss.

Interior

The interior has survived remarkably well and is almost entirely original. The seats, door cards and other interior upholstery are in excellent condition. There is only a small hole in the front corner of the driver's seat.

The carpets were lifted for inspection, revealing untouched original floors beneath, still retaining the factory-original sound insulation. This is an excellent testament to how well the car has been preserved.

Mechanical

The Escort starts easily, drives very well and has recently received a full service. The car is ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Chassis and underside

The underside is honest and impressively original. The chassis rails and floor structures are largely untouched, with only a few small repairs visible.

A large number of detailed photos are included, providing a good impression of its condition.
