A real enthusiast can still turn this into a car. I’m no longer interested and have bought a new car.


The good: -

Starts, drives, does not rattle or knock, and feels like a premium car on the road.

  • The entire diesel fuel system is new: injectors, rail, high-pressure pump and fuel pump. Parts worth thousands of euros.

  • Good headlights; left headlamp is new, worth €2,000.

  • New valve covers.

  • Clean interior; the movable air vents work.

  • Timing belt was replaced in spring, as were the oil and auxiliary belt. So nothing needs doing to the engine.


Then the bad:

  • A couple of dents, scratches and stone chips.


And then the serious issues:

  • Rust on the sills.

  • Parking sensors only work in warm weather.

  • Last winter it displayed “limited performance” if driven above 80 km/h immediately after starting with a cold engine. The fault message is “air mass difference between left and right side”. The valve covers were replaced due to possible cracks in the plastic. The fault message disappears when the car is switched off.

  • I had the gear selector repaired once. I have now noticed that selecting S causes it to stick briefly. It has not caused problems in normal driving. These can be repaired in Tampere.


The car may be worth more for parts, but a skilled enthusiast can still turn it into a drivable car.


Jaguar alloy wheels and studded tyres can be purchased for an additional €400.


The car can be driven home; the sill trim and wheel will be fitted.
