The Range that once provided a magnificent ride is now looking for its next small (?) project. For now, you cannot enjoy the drive, only listen to the wonderful sounds of the M57 engine while stationary and enjoy the leather seats.

I had intended to repair and investigate this myself at some point, but there simply is not enough time, let alone interest. Apparently, the gearbox selector cannot select a gear/cannot detect whether it is in P/R/N/D. For this reason, it does not always start either, as the gearbox does not give permission to start. Usually, moving the gear lever back and forth and using a jump start gets it going. When running, it makes a noise if you try to select P (see video).

Apparently, according to YouTube and AI, this is quite a common fault on these. Based on the videos, it may be fixable fairly cheaply, or it may not.


It has plenty of good equipment! Two sets of wheels and tyres, Harman Kardon sound system, heated windscreen, leather interior with electric memory seats, air suspension, heated seats and steering wheel, etc.
