Defects and other observations

After the timing chain repair (158,000 km), it was driven for approx. 1,000 km, and despite normal driving the car stalled at a traffic light. It would not start, and when turning the crankshaft it rotates one way for a full turn and the other way for a full turn before locking up. The timing may have skipped and the piston is now hitting the valves, so the chain tensioner may have failed. There is a little metal in the oil filter, but it is not full of metal (see photo). Assumption is that the connecting rod bearings are intact. Oil and coolant are in the engine. No warning lights appeared on the instrument cluster and there were no unusual noises before the engine seized. When the fault occurred, the car was left at the roadside and towed to a workshop. No attempt has been made to force it to start.
