A Ford Kuga that runs and drives, with still reasonable mileage and manual 4x4 drivetrain, is being auctioned! The car runs, but it shows an engine malfunction fault, which is why it is being auctioned onwards.

Diagnosis and repair work by the authorised dealer regarding the car:

"The exhaust gas temperature sensor was loose.

The differential pressure sensor reading kept fluctuating even with the engine off. The differential pressure sensor was resting on the subframe. Tapping the sensor made the reading start fluctuating, even with the engine off. The same happened with a new sensor.

The wires between the engine control unit and the sensor were checked by measurement, all showing 0.3–0.5 ohm resistance, no connection to each other or to the body.

This points to a PCM fault.

The engine malfunction was also caused by deterioration of engine oil quality. The oil service life was reset, and the message disappeared.

The used PCM was replaced, and the differential pressure sensor reading no longer fluctuates when the engine is off. Now it fluctuates when the engine is running. The issue was corrected with a new differential pressure sensor.

The car returned to the workshop after a few days on 13.08.2026. The warning light came on again.

In the test, the fault code for oil deterioration appeared again. There are no fault codes from the differential pressure sensor or the particulate filter.

The oil change interval was reset. The car was test-driven three times. The fault has not reappeared.

The customer took the car into use, but after about a week the warning light came on again. "

In addition, the DPF particulate filter, thermostat and timing belt kit have recently been replaced. An oil service was also carried out a short while ago.
The car is roadworthy, but the cause of the engine malfunction warning light has not been identified. The car has not been driven any further since then.

The auction listing for the car has been made based on the seller’s observations. The car may have hidden faults or defects that the seller did not notice when preparing the listing. It is possible to test drive and inspect the car at our premises during opening hours.
