Keson stone cowshed on a land parcel, Tampere

The City of Tampere is selling, on the basis of offers, the building known as Keson stone cowshed and an approx. 0.3 ha land parcel on property 837-501-17-0 at Aitoniementie 411, 33680 Tampere. The building is a traditional stone cowshed completed in 1906 and its gross floor area is approx. 300 m². The building’s area has not been verified by measurement and the area of the sale item may differ significantly from that stated. The building has no heating system and no electrical or water connections. The roof structures of the attic have completely collapsed. The cowshed building is sold for basic refurbishment.

The building is located in a cultural landscape where particular attention must be paid to scenic values when making changes. The building must, in principle, not be demolished. Repair and alteration work carried out on the building must be such that the building’s historical character is preserved.

The site is located on a land parcel belonging to property 837-501-17-0 in the Aitoniemi–Hirvenniemi area. In the master plan the area is designated as a recreational area. It is the buyer’s responsibility to investigate and apply for any intended use, building and deviation permits and to handle other permits from authorities. The buyer shall pay the costs of subdividing the parcel.

There is an archaeological site on the parcel; therefore all construction measures and projects require a prior statement from the regional museum. The requirement for a statement and any need for archaeological investigation applies, for example, to any new build or infill development planned for the parcel, repair works, infrastructure projects (such as underground cabling, water supply lines, ground-source heat wells and fields, etc.) and yard works.
