Engine replaced!

For auction: a rare, well-presented T5 petrol Volvo XC60 with a transmission fault!

The car began to jerk while driving and was taken to a main dealer for diagnosis. A knocking was heard from under the engine and the engine was partly dismantled, revealing excessive crankshaft endplay; the engine was therefore replaced. After the engine swap the knocking reduced but a noise remained. The car was examined further and the fault was found to be in the gearbox, requiring repair or replacement.

The car can be started and will move forward, but driving it is not recommended due to the risk of further damage.

This example has a timing-chain engine, and a new chain was fitted with the engine replacement!

Old parts from the previous engine include the turbo, injectors and the intake and exhaust manifolds.

The car has a comprehensive service history and equipment list, and comes with two roadworthy sets of tyres on alloy wheels.

Summer tyres: 4–5 mm tread.

Winter tyres: near-new studded tyres.

The last approved MOT for the Volvo was at 228,000 km on 19 March 2025; due to the gearbox fault the car has not been inspected since.

The most recent service was carried out at 236,000 km // 15 July 2025 at a main dealer (Essential service).

The car was imported from Saudi Arabia on 15 November 2013, so it can almost be considered a Finnish car. The CarVertical report shows clean results for damage and odometer tampering!
