For sale: Renault Safrane -95 with 2.2 J7T engine (107 hp) and manual gearbox.

This was Renault's flagship in its day and the ride is accordingly comfortable.

This example is a basic trim level with fewer options. Electric mirrors, electric front windows, rear windows operated by a crank and remote central locking.


The car has been kept tidy and well maintained. I am the second owner in Finland; it was imported from Germany to Finland in the early 2000s. When I acquired it it had been stationary since about 2014 and I have now returned it to good working order. Service records available.

Two new tyre sets with alloy wheels — summer and winter.


Works done now for inspection and after the long storage:

Basic oil service for engine and gearbox.

Coolant replaced.

Filters replaced.

Ignition parts: spark plugs and distributor rotor.

Timing belt and tensioner, and auxiliary belts.

Brakes renewed — discs and pads on all corners.

Rear wheel bearings replaced.

Front lower wishbones and driver's lower ball joint replaced.

Tie rod end boots.

New battery and bulbs.

New tyre sets for summer and winter.


Technically the car now runs flawlessly and has been returned to the road.

As negatives, of course a 31‑year‑old car has scratches and a few dents — see photos.

Some paint has come off in places on the arches and the bumper.

The car appears to have been well zinc-treated, as there is virtually no rust.

The undercarriage is in very good and solid condition.
