The EPC warning light flashes intermittently while driving. The car starts and moves normally forwards and backwards.

A faint knocking noise is heard at the front when turning slowly.

As the engine warms up there is an indistinct rattling noise from the engine.

The fault code pointed to the camshaft position sensor; the sensor was replaced and the timing chain checked — these are OK. The fault persisted.
