Great for tinkering with the kids, a gift for a partner or just for yourself — a genuine Taiwan Golden Bee, not some furniture-tube-and-glue build whose frame falls apart on the first ride.

TGB manufactures engines and parts for its own scooters and ATVs and for many well-known brands, including Can-Am, Polaris, Suzuki, Yamaha,

Peugeot, Minarelli, Morini, Vespa/Piaggio.

This shows, for example, in the fact that all brake lines are steel-braided. Anyway, this Taiwanese wonder is currently broken.

What has been done so far:

The engine ran as if it lacked power,

New fuel was added because the machine had been standing, new spark plug fitted, carburettor ultrasonic cleaned — did not help. Valve adjustment — still no improvement. Compression test... 2 bar!!! Obviously that isn’t enough, so why is the pressure leaking? Checked timing again — tooth misaligned?!? Got the timing right and set valve clearances to spec and it started and ran well for a while, then began running poorly again. Repeated the checks and again the timing tooth was off; after further dismantling I noticed the chain looked worn, oddly so given the low usage. So it likely needs a new timing chain and tensioner. I photographed the cylinder — it looks good, and with the timing correct the compression reading was then fine.

Selling because I don’t have time to fix it and don’t really need it — motivation is missing 😃, there are enough projects already.
