Ice-cream kiosk seasonal rent 2026, Alajärvi

The City of Alajärvi is auctioning the right to use the ice-cream kiosk for the summer season 2026.

The kiosk is located next to the Palotorin playground, close to Alajärvi's Palotori and the popular children's traffic park.

The highest bid in the auction will serve as the kiosk's seasonal rent.

The winning bidder commits to:

• keeping the kiosk in operation at least during June–July 2026. There is an option to continue in August.

• operating at their own risk and responsibility

• ensuring all necessary permits, notifications and regulatory requirements (e.g. food business notification)

In addition the tenant commits to:

• keeping the kiosk open regularly throughout the agreed period

• focusing opening hours on weekends and evenings according to demand and weather

• ensuring the operation is active rather than occasional

The City of Alajärvi rents:

• the ice-cream kiosk building

• the kiosk's fixed fixtures, which include at least:

o   cold drawer unit

o   ice-cream freezer

o   cabinets, counters and shelves

o   hand-wash station

o   water canisters

Please note:

• Drinking water must be brought in in canisters. Water and canisters are provided by the City.

• The tenant is responsible for the kiosk's cleanliness and daily maintenance.

• The tenant is responsible for costs arising from the operation.

• A fixed electricity charge of €25/month is payable in addition to the seasonal rent.

• Waste management is handled by the City of Alajärvi.

The City of Alajärvi has the right to terminate the agreement if the kiosk is not operated in accordance with the agreed terms.
