"You'd think you couldn't improve on something brilliant. The VMK20 Bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones sold tens of thousands of pairs and received almost nothing but praise from both the media and customers, but development moves on and there's always more to learn. Valco listened closely to feedback on the VMK20 and built an 'older brother' for the popular model — the VMK25 noise-cancelling headphones.

First, we redesigned the look again with the help of Finnish Ratamo Design. We aimed for a modern appearance while keeping the family resemblance, so VMK25 won't be mistaken for a courier's cheap headphones.

Because we don't think wireless headphones need to shine in the dark or blink, both status LEDs are inside the ear cup. That way you can be sure you won't be noticed when you're crouched in the bushes.

A fun detail in the VMK25 is the handy magnet-attached colourful covers that you can easily swap (wash) and customise yourself.

The VMK20 was already finely tuned, and adjustments alone wouldn't have made it noticeably better. That's why these have new composite drivers, enabling even better sound than before. The Bluetooth technology is Qualcomm quality.

We also invested in noise cancellation: these headphones have a completely new ANC circuit supported by plush, sound-damping memory-foam cushions. ANC now also includes, in our opinion a bit silly but much-requested, transparency mode.

Finnish design - Valco's designer Lauri Lumme has improved the model so the VMK25 picks up less wind and suits all kinds of exercise better. We believe headphones shouldn't glow or blink in the dark, so we placed both LEDs inside the cup. You can trust you won't be noticed when sneaking around with the VMK25 on. We also made the side panels replaceable so they're easier to keep clean, customise and swap according to the latest social trends. Ergonomics and quality - The repositioned headband adjustment offers a wider range than before (making life easier for very large- and small-headed users). Overall a more solid, higher-quality construction with a lovely soft-touch finish. Fit is firmer, surface materials feel a bit more premium, ear cups are slightly roomier and the frame is even more durable.

Even better sound quality - The VMK20 already earned much praise among golden-eared listeners. New (larger and improved) drivers deliver top sound. Our sound guru Jasse "Jazmanaut" Kesti couldn't believe his ears when he got to tune these. The sound profile is the familiar, studio-like neutral that our sound chief Jasse has refined. Music sounds the way it was painstakingly mixed and mastered in the studio. The title "sound wrangler" is certainly deserved!

Excellent noise cancellation - A completely new ANC chipset reduces background noise even more effectively. ANC now also has the silly-but-customer-requested transparency feature: press a button and the headphones use the ANC microphones to let ambient sound through. Is it anti-ANC? It's a handy feature so you can hear announcements or even eavesdrop on the person next to you while they think you're listening to Sebuldur at full volume. Ha-ha!" - Valco
