Ice cream sales location, Kivistö, Vantaa

The City of Vantaa offers a seasonal right to operate an ice cream kiosk at the location shown via an online auction conducted as a bid sale. The ice cream kiosk sales season runs from 15 April 2026–30 September 2026.

The site location is shown in the pictures. The City of Vantaa reserves the right to adjust the site location or restrict use of the area if there are particularly weighty reasons to do so.

The kiosk must be placed and oriented so that the kiosk, furniture or queuing customers do not obstruct the tactile guiding strip for visually impaired people. There must be at least 60 cm of unobstructed space on both sides of the guiding strip.

Intended use

The site is offered for operating an ice cream kiosk. In addition to ice cream, suitable café items and cold drinks may be sold from the kiosk. Other activities are prohibited.

Ice cream kiosk specifications

The kiosk may be no wider than 7 metres and no deeper than 3 metres. Any kiosk structure exceeding these maximum dimensions must be agreed with the city separately before the site is taken into use.

The kiosk must be intact, tidy in appearance and appropriate to the surrounding urban environment. The kiosk façades must not include advertisements or logos unrelated to the activity. Any kiosk name must be clearly visible. No permanent water, sewage or electrical connections are permitted to the kiosk. The operator is responsible for supplying the water required for operations to the sales point as carried water.

Where space allows, up to 2 table-and-chair sets (approximately eight customer seats) may be placed next to the kiosk during opening hours. The furniture used must be intact and neat in appearance. Placement of furniture must not obstruct traffic or mechanical maintenance of the area. Furniture must be stored elsewhere outside the kiosk's opening hours.

Up to two small advertising stands, advertising the kiosk's activities or products, may be placed next to the kiosk. Stands must be positioned in the immediate vicinity of the kiosk so that they do not obstruct traffic or mechanical maintenance of the area. Advertising devices must be stored when the kiosk is closed. Other advertising not related to the activity is prohibited.

Cleaning, tidiness, waste management and hygiene

Cleanliness and hygiene at the sales point, and the storage and handling of foodstuffs, must comply with the instructions and regulations of Vantaa City Environmental Centre. Further information is available on request at ulkomyynti(at)vantaa.fi.

The operator is responsible for cleaning and tidiness of the sales site during the sales season. At least one waste point for customers must be provided at the sales site. The operator is responsible for ensuring that waste generated by the operation is disposed of or recycled appropriately. Waste from the operation must not be placed in the city's public waste containers.

The operator must have a self-monitoring plan and keep it at the sales point. All staff must be familiarised with the self-monitoring plan. Records must be kept in accordance with the plan.

Other official notifications and obligations

The operator must notify the Vantaa City Environmental Centre of the start of food operations. A written notification must be made 4 weeks before starting or substantially changing food operations. Suspension or cessation of operations must be reported immediately. Registration of a mobile food unit is subject to a fee.
