Ice cream kiosk, Tikkurila, Vantaa

The City of Vantaa is offering a seasonal right to operate an ice cream kiosk at the site shown via an online auction with upward bidding. The ice cream kiosk sales season runs from 15 April–30 September 2026.

The location of the sales pitch is shown in the images. The City of Vantaa reserves the right to adjust the location or restrict use of the area if there are compelling reasons to do so.

The kiosk must be placed and oriented so that the kiosk, furniture or queuing customers do not obstruct the guiding strip for the visually impaired. There must be at least 60 centimetres of unobstructed space on both sides of the guiding strip.

Permitted use

The pitch is offered for operating an ice cream kiosk. In addition to ice cream, the kiosk may sell other suitable café items and cold drinks. Other activities are prohibited.

Ice cream kiosk features

The kiosk may be a maximum of 7 metres wide and 3 metres deep. Use of kiosk structures exceeding these maximum dimensions must be agreed with the city before use.

The kiosk must be intact, tidy in appearance and suitable for the surrounding urban environment. Facades must not display advertisements or logos unrelated to the operation. Any kiosk name must be clearly visible. No permanent water, sewage or electrical connections may be made to the kiosk. The operator is responsible for supplying any required operating water to the sales point as carried-in water.

If space allows, up to 2 table-and-seating groups (about eight customer places) may be placed adjacent to the kiosk during opening hours. Furnishings must be intact and tidy in appearance. Placement must not obstruct traffic or mechanical maintenance of the area. Furnishings must be stored elsewhere outside opening hours.

Up to two small advertising stands related to the kiosk or its products may be placed next to the kiosk. Advertising stands must be sited in the immediate vicinity of the kiosk so they do not obstruct traffic or mechanical maintenance. Advertising devices must be kept in storage outside opening hours. Other unrelated advertising is prohibited.

Cleaning, tidiness, waste management and hygiene

The cleanliness and hygiene of the sales point and the storage and handling of foodstuffs must comply with the instructions and regulations of the City of Vantaa Environmental Centre. Further information is available on request at ulkomyynti(at)vantaa.fi.

The operator is responsible for cleaning and keeping the sales point tidy during the sales season. At least one waste point for customers must be provided. The operator is responsible for disposing of or recycling waste generated by the activity. Waste from the activity may not be placed in the city’s public waste containers.

The operator must have a self-monitoring plan and keep it at the sales point. All employees must be familiarised with the self-monitoring plan. Records must be kept in accordance with the plan.

Other official notifications and obligations

The operator must notify the City of Vantaa Environmental Centre of the start of food business operations. A written notification must be made 4 weeks before starting the food business or making a significant change. Suspension or cessation of operations must be reported immediately. Registration of a mobile food unit is subject to a fee.
