27 January. Active fault codes: 2 — related to the lambda sensor and the thermostat. Emissions test could not be carried out because a lambda fault is thrown; operation cannot be assessed. No power to the reversing lights — correct fuses were not found.

Also tried a conventional emissions test: HC and lambda show very rich mixture; there are occasional backfires into the exhaust when releasing the throttle and the idle is slightly uneven. Now shows P0303 (misfire in cylinder 3) active. Spark plug? Coil? 2 February: spark plugs for cylinders 3 and 4 replaced, coil for cylinder 3 replaced. Faults persist. Compression checked: 10.5, 11, 9.5 and 10.5 bar. Photographed — scratches in the cylinders.
