The barrel is made of polyethylene and is completely seamless, very easy to keep clean and simple to use.

The complete delivery includes a stylish, snow-load-resistant plastic cover with lifting handle, a large approx. 35 kW marine-grade aluminium stove, drain tap and drain pipe. The barrel is insulated. The base contains 45 cm of Styrox filling, so this tub won’t suffer from frost affecting bathers. The outer shell is domestic heat-treated pine (Lunawood). The tub package is 100% Finnish quality workmanship.

Hyvän Kaupan Paikka’s Classic Hot Tub is manufactured in Finland in every detail. We are proud of our production line and have produced this Classic Hot Tub model for years using the same reliable method. The tub’s rim panels arrive at the factory as long stock. They are cut to size and assembled into an element that houses the previously glued insulating base from Sastamala made by Jackon and the maintenance-free PE plastic basin moulded by Pipelifе in Oulu. Our hot tub specialists drill the drain hole in the base, make the stove openings in the side and fit the hoses. Finally the package is gently tipped on its side to install the drain pipe.

The Classic Hot Tub is delivered freight-free to its new happy owner, who only needs a water hose, firewood and a fire-starting tool. The new owner must ensure the tub is set level so the water does not sit unevenly. Installation instructions are included, but in practice the owner simply fastens the stove to the flat base with hose clamps, screw the stove’s drain valve closed and off you go.

Improved seating comfort in the rotationally moulded basin – also for taller bathers

The maintenance-free, rotationally moulded PE basin comes almost from next door, from Pipelifе in Oulu. At their factory, the plastic granules are placed into a mould which is rotated in an oven for an hour. After cooling the basin is ready to be moved to our production line.

We paid special attention to seating comfort when designing the basin. The basin sides are not vertical, as a wedge-shaped insulating air gap is left between the basin and the rim cladding that supports the bather’s back more gently. The rims of our basins are generally higher than those of other manufacturers, so the shoulders of taller bathers sit below the steaming water surface and the necks stay warm. Seat comfort is top-class and legs don’t get cramped in this tub, because despite the height the bench is not too low.

Super-efficient marine-grade aluminium stove

The marine-grade aluminium stoves in our hot tub packages are made in Finland. The powerful 35 kW stove handles even seawater, suitable for both fresh and brackish water. Carefully chosen material details make the stove a top product. Marine aluminium conducts heat excellently, the stove’s front plate is stainless steel and the glass door lets you check the fire without opening it. The stove package includes two metres of chimney pipe and a rain cap, but if you want extra pipe, a chimney guard or a spark arrestor, see the accessories list.

Remember that chlorine is not recommended with marine aluminium, as chlorine oxidises marine aluminium. We recommend changing the water regularly and using active-oxygen tablets (see accessories). Active oxygen treats the water for about 24 hours, after which the water can be used for watering as it contains no added chemicals and is safer for children. Untreated water easily forms a slimy film on the tub rim, but active oxygen prevents this.

Easy maintenance with little effort

The Classic Hot Tub won’t freeze out even if the ground frosts. The 45 cm Styrox insulation at the base prevents cold from reaching the tub bottom and helps keep the water warmer. The delivery includes a plastic cover, which greatly reduces heat loss. A well-heated hot tub can be reheated the next morning with a single load of wood.

Heat is also present in the Lunawood heat-treated pine panels, which crown the tub’s appearance as rim material. You do not need to treat the pine panels unless you want to. The surface will weather to a beautiful grey over the years. If you wish to preserve the brown tone, apply wood oil annually. The plastic basin is maintenance-free too, because with no moulded seams dirt has nowhere to accumulate. Remember to keep the basin surfaces clean when changing water. This is easy with normal detergents. More meticulous users can occasionally disinfect the basin, but remember to handle wastewater appropriately.
