Eye-catching Lana/Triangel table top

The table top is made from durable and eco-friendly pine. The top is manufactured from two glued laminated planks bonded with water-resistant adhesive. The wood grain and pattern are clearly visible, so the surface is not smooth. The planks used are knotty pine, allowing natural cracks, knot holes, resin streaks and heartwood marks as well as irregularities. The surface is produced by special brushing to emphasise the wood's natural character. Brushing removes the softer parts of the wood (resin and heartwood areas) from the plank surface.

Care/cleaning instructions Clean stains and spills from the top daily with a clean cloth while fresh. Wipe with a damp or moist cloth using a neutral detergent (e.g. diluted dishwashing liquid). Dry the surface thoroughly. The top does not tolerate chemicals, hot items or substances – these can damage the finish and leave marks. Re-treat with a water-based outdoor lacquer if necessary. Sand previously lacquered surfaces to bare wood (remove sanding dust carefully) or check adhesion of a new lacquer with a test coat on a lightly sanded surface. Wood oil is only suitable if the lacquer is removed.

Rustic Honka plank table top

The Honka plank table top is made from a durable 3 cm thick glued laminated plank. The plank surface has been machine-brushed, giving a textured and attractive rustic appearance. Brushing removes the softer parts of the wood, such as resin and heartwood areas, from the plank surface.

There are pre-drilled screw holes under the top (16 pcs/side) that match directly with Honka plank table legs. There are also fixing holes in the middle for a support rail supplied with separately purchased legs. Legs can be fitted at the ends of the plank top or slightly inset. The top is delivered in two parts. Includes only the top planks. Screws and the central support rail are not included.

Wood parts are first stained with a water-resistant water-based stain. The surface is then treated three times with a water-based acrylic lacquer. Both treatments are intended especially for outdoor furniture but can also be used indoors.

The plank is knotty pine allowing natural cracks, knot holes and resin and heartwood marks. Wood movement may cause changes that can lead to cracks. Small hairline cracks are typical for pine tops and do not weaken the top or affect its lifespan or durability. The amount of resin, presence of heartwood and natural variations in wood density and composition can cause colour and pattern differences across the table top – this is a natural characteristic of wooden furniture. Colour changes over time are also a natural feature of wood furniture.
