A sensible S-Max for its mileage, although it requires some gearbox work. It came to us directly from use, so it is still usable, but it occasionally activates gearbox limp mode and then does not work properly. However, according to the previous owner, restarting the car a few times makes it work again, allowing the necessary journeys to be completed.

Defects and other observations

During a short test drive, we made the following observations:

  • When working, it drives normally; there is a slight knock over bumps, but it drives quite well.

  • The engine warning light is on. According to the previous owner, this is due to the gearbox, and the car occasionally enters limp mode, when the gearbox cannot select the correct gear. Even when functioning, it may reportedly fail to find every gear and operate, for example, only in 1st, 3rd and 5th gears. However, it came directly from use, and according to the previous owner, if it entered limp mode, restarting the car a few times made the gearbox work again. There is clearly a fault, but we have not investigated it further.

We have not carried out a technical condition inspection of the car, nor tested the operation of all equipment. The car may have hidden faults that we did not notice during the test drive and inspection. You are welcome to test-drive and inspect the car more closely on site. To make your visit as smooth as possible, please arrange it in advance. Thank you!
