Recently MOT-tested, tidy Peugeot, sold for repair; the gearbox plays up when warm!!!

The automatic gearbox operates completely normally when setting off from cold for the first 20–30 km.

After that, at motorway speeds, it changes from fourth gear to third and activates the gearbox warning lights.

When the car is restarted, the warning lights clear and the gearbox works normally again for a while.

After driving a few kilometres, it develops the same fault again and the warning lights come on; no idea what causes it?

It manages reasonably well in town like this, but it is definitely not advisable to drive on any motorway!
