A tidy Peugeot for repair. The car was sold by us in the summer, and the customer soon began experiencing intermittent starting problems. Fault codes were found in the BSI unit and brake-light switch. An attempt was made to replace the BSI unit with another used one, which apparently activated the immobiliser and added approximately 60,000 km to the car’s recorded mileage, even though the original BSI unit was refitted.


The car’s actual mileage is approximately 220,000 km, but the odometer now shows 280,000 km!


THE CAR STARTS EASILY WHEN PUSH-STARTED, BUT ROUGHLY ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON. THE ENGINE RUNS SMOOTHLY AND WELL.


Before these symptoms, the car worked well and had been well maintained.
