Mazda6 2.0 petrol (2006) – an honest daily driver with a fresh inspection!

On offer is a Mazda6 that does not try to pretend it is younger than it is, but still gets along briskly. The fresh inspection is in the bag, and the next inspection is only a year away, so there is plenty of driving time for the next owner to enjoy.

On the body, there is some age-related patina and a bit of rust, as one might expect from a Mazda of this age. The right rear quarter has the most visible marks, and there is surface rust on the wheel arches and the boot lid. These are mainly cosmetic issues, however. The sill at the right rear corner has been repaired earlier, and the workmanship was good enough for the inspector too, who rewarded the car with a full extra year on the road.

Mechanically, the clutch lets you know it is there with a slight shake when moving off, but it does not slip or rattle. In other words, this is more of a characteristic than an immediate project.

The windscreen is otherwise intact, but there is one larger bullseye chip on the passenger side next to the rear-view mirror. In practice, it does not really affect the driver’s field of view.
