Bora for sale, I only had it for a month.


The good points are:

  • Recently inspected

  • Good summer tyres, and there are winter tyres too in equally good condition.

  • Very little rust, almost none for its age.

  • Gearbox mount replaced

  • Battery replaced

  • Very low fuel consumption

  • Otherwise just an okay car

  • Power steering pump replaced.


Then the terrible downsides:

  • Smells of petrol inside. See the picture attached for this issue; there is no fuel leak though.

  • the steering rack is broken, as shown in one of the pictures. It rattles, clunks, howls and makes noise, the power steering fluid does not stay in the reservoir and it needs work. The alignment and all seals and other parts, and of course the steering rack itself, need to be done/taken to someone to fix.

I have not had much time in the month to get to know this car, but it has otherwise worked quite okay in my hands except now.
