Defects and other observations

I personally went to test drive this 2004 Mondeo 3.0 V6 classic, and I have to say this example offered a pleasant ride.

The naturally aspirated 3.0-litre V6 engine purrs beautifully, revs as it should and still delivers a very natural and lively drive. These are already becoming rare on Finnish roads, and just over 200,000 km on the clock is only a good middle age for this powertrain.

On the test drive, there was hardly any unusual or disturbing fault noticed in the car:

  • The engine runs smoothly and pulls strongly

  • The gearbox and clutch work flawlessly

  • The chassis feels solid, and no extra rattles were heard

  • Very comfortable to drive on the motorway

    I did notice that the electric window lifters and lowers rattle when used.

Overall, a really tidy, great-driving and surprisingly firm V6 Mondeo for the next driver!
