Volvo V70 1.6D DRIVe Momentum, 2010, Lahti

During a short test drive we observed the following

- The air conditioning does not blow cold

- The car was in limp mode when it arrived to us, power limited and the engine warning light was on. It was driven from Helsinki to Lahti, so it did not prevent driving as such. Fault codes were read with a Volvo tester and cleared; only one code remained active - P245809 particulate filter regeneration duration (see picture).

Possibly cleaning the particulate filter or forced regeneration could fix the issue. According to the previous owner, the fault was investigated to the extent that it was in the Eolys system (with some fault code reader it gave him fault code 1932), so the fault may also be that it does not feed Eolys additive into the system, causing the regeneration failure. We did not investigate further. The limp mode may possibly return when the car is driven more, but now it runs completely normally and the engine warning light is not on; only the additional message 'Engine system service required' is shown on the instrument panel.

- It dropped a little blue liquid onto our floor from the engine bay area, with no clear source, but it was most likely either coolant or washer fluid. In the area where it dripped, hoses from both systems run, but from above the engine bay there is no obvious cause. The coolant is green in this car, so could it have been washer fluid?

- The steering wheel is slightly off-centre when driving straight

- Good to drive in every respect, no extra noises from the chassis and everything tested seemed to work, including the electric tailgate, which works nicely. In addition, after clearing the fault codes it drove completely normally (of course the limp mode may return if the cause is not repaired).

The car has not been technically inspected by us and the functionality of all equipment has not been tested. It may have hidden faults that we did not notice during the test drive.
