Fairly tidy Kia Ceed.

  • The car has been owned and used by my daughter. Last spring the automatic transmission started acting up. The gearbox jerks and goes into limp mode, in which only 3rd gear works. After the car has stood for a while, the transmission works normally again. Recently the fault has recurred almost daily. The previous owner of the car replaced the transmission solenoid and the engine timing chain.

  • The car's inspection had expired unnoticed, and when I took the car for inspection it was failed due to the engine warning light being on, the rear brakes and the battery mounting (see inspection certificate in the pictures). The car must have a bottom-mounted battery, and I replaced it with one. The engine valves tick at idle, but it has not affected driving. We did not start repairing the car as my daughter no longer needs it.

  • The car has Chinese Westlake summer tyres on alloy wheels, purchased last spring, and decent Nokian Nordman winter tyres.
